This idea of the conceal carry camisole got started because I was sexually attacked by a community member, and he continued to stalk me. Living in a rural area the response time is slow, so I was told by our local deputy that unfortunately they could not protect me but would be there to respond to the aftermath and encouraged me to do whatever it took to protect myself. So, I started training with some of my law enforcement friends using a firearm for self defense. I couldn't find anything that worked for me to conceal a firearm, so I designed my own conceal carry shirt.
The design is so that it makes for a quicker draw compared to under the arm pit or other places. The target goal from drawing and firing two shots off is to do it in 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes. With this shirt I was able to draw and fire 2 shots within 1 minute 46 seconds with only practicing for a few minutes on the range. It did not slow down my draw that much at all nor did it expose me.
Along my journey of learning to protect myself and healing I have become a certified NRA pistol instructor, Utah concealed carry instructor, certified personal exercise trainer including tactical exercises, corrective exercise specialist, pelvic floor specialist, trauma recovery coach, certified Joyologist (aka laughter therapist), and teach several other classes for personal protection and mental wellness.
